In this lab, we viewed various organisms under a microscope. We observed the various organelles and identified them as well as what power we were viewing them under. We found nuclei, muscle fibers, and striations in the muscle cell. We found a nucleus, epidermis cell, vein, chloroplast, and the cell wall in ligustrum. We found a cell wall, chloroplast, nucleus, and cytoplasm in spirogyra. We found coccus, bacillus, and spirilum in bacteria. We found a single cell and cytoskeleton in cyanobacteria. We found a nucleus, chloroplast, and flagellum in euglena. We found a nucleus, nucleoulus, cell membrane, vacuole, cytoplasm, and pseudopod in amoeba. Autotrophs were usually plant cells, so they had chloroplasts unlike the heterotrophs, and they also had more structure. Heterotrophs were usually animal cells and more free form and less ridgid. Eukaryotes had more organelles generally and had nuclei. Prokaryotes had no nuclei and were more simple and had less organelles.
